A man and a woman in their late 40s have been found dead at a property near King’s Lynn in a suspected firearms incident.
The body of a man was discovered by police in the front garden of a property on Stow Road in the village of Magdalen early on Tuesday morning while the body of a woman was found inside.
Norfolk police said East of England Ambulance Service staff raised concerns for the safety of two residents just after midnight on Tuesday.
Detectives from the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team (MIT) have launched an enquiry into the deaths. The road has been closed and a seal put in place at hte property for crime scene investigators to carry out forensic examinations.
Neighbours told Press Association they believed the man and woman who died were a couple. Police have not confirmed reports of a double shooting.
Detective Superintendent Paul Durham said: "We are in the very early stages of the investigation and while I understand how shocking the news of this incident must be for neighbours of the two people involved and other local residents, I can reassure them we are putting all our efforts into establishing the circumstances surrounding their deaths."
