Man and woman found dead inside house as police suspect they had been there for weeks

Mystery surrounds the death of two people who lay dead in a flat for weeks, police believe.

Shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday West Mercia Police received a concern for welfare report about a person in a home in Redditch.

Police officers and paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service raced to the scene and discovered the bodies of two people.

They belonged to a 45-year-old woman and 57-year-old man, who had been dead for a number of weeks.

Their deaths are currently being treated as unexplained.

The police are going door-to-door searching for leads and a cordon has been set up around the home.

One neighbour said: "The house was rented accommodation with residents frequently changing.

"The two people hadn't lived there for that long but kept themselves to themselves."
