Man and woman charged over death of baby boy in Cambridgeshire

A man and woman have been charged over the death of a 12-week-old boy in Cambridgeshire.

Teddie Mitchell, from St Neots, sustained injuries and was admitted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge on November 1 last year.

The baby died in hospital 10 days later on November 11.

Details of his injuries have not been disclosed.

Cambridgeshire Police said on Wednesday that Kane Mitchell, 30, of no fixed address but formerly of St Neots, had been charged with Teddie’s murder.

Lucci Smith, 29, of Pattison Court, St Neots, had been charged with causing or allowing the death of a child, the force added.

Both appeared before Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday and they were both remanded in custody to appear before Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday, a court official said.
