Man and woman charged in connection with €133,000 cannabis seizure in Blanchardstown

Two people have been charged in relation to a €133,000 cannabis seizure in west Dublin.

The drugs were discovered yesterday by gardai and Revenue officials following a search of a premises in Blanchardstown.

A Revenue spokeswoman said yesterday the operation is part of ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.

A man, aged 22, and a woman, aged 41, were arrested and detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Both the man and woman are due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Tuesday, July 27 at 10.30am.

A garda spokeswoman said investigations into the seizure remain ongoing.
