A man was rushed to hospital after being assaulted with a weapon in Paisley last night.
Officers were called to the scene following reports that a man and woman had been attacked on Howard Street around 7.30pm.
The man, whose age is not known, was found to be injured and taken to the Royal Alexandra hospital in Paisley for treatement.
Police are now investigating the attack and confirmed they are following a positive line of enquiry.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers received a report at around 7.30pm that a man and a woman had been assaulted on Howard Street with a weapon.
"Officers are now following a positive line of enquiry. Anyone with information on the incident should contact police on 101."
