A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after a flat fire in Swansea.
The fire t ook place on Oystermouth Road on Thursday, March 26.
Firefighters rescued a man from the building. South Wales Police said in a statement: "At about 4.45pm yesterday we received a report of a house fire in Oystermouth Road, Swansea.
"A 26-year-old man and a 33-year woman have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and are in police custody."
As a result of the fire, the main A4067 Oystermouth Road was closed on Thursday afternoon and a traffic diversion was put in place via Sandfields.
There was no sign of any obvious external damage to any of the buildings in the area. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended and left the scene at around 6pm.
A spokesman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "On Thursday, 26/03/2020 at 04:41pm, crews from Morriston and Swansea Central attended a fire at a property in Oystermouth Road, City Centre, Swansea.
"The fire involved a flat, on the second floor of a three-storey property. Firefighters rescued a male casualty from the second floor and extinguished the fire.
"The Fire Service utilised two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, a 45mm jet, a 7-meter ladder and a thermal imaging camera during the incident. A positive pressure ventilation fan was also used to ventilate the property.
"The Fire Service left the incident at 06:05pm. The incident is under Police investigation."
