Man and woman arrested after jewellery robbed from 16-year-old boy

A man and woman have been arrested after jewellery was robbed from a 16-year-old boy in Sale.

The incident happened at around 4pm on Sunday (October 3) on Frodsham Road.

Police said a boy, aged 16, was walking along the road when he was approached by a man riding a moped.

The driver stopped the boy to ask him for the time before driving off.

He then circled back and passed the boy before grabbing some jewellery from around his neck.

The victim was left uninjured, police said.

Officers launched an investigation and arrested a man, aged 21, at a house in Sale.

He was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has since been released on bail.

A 20-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and drug offences.

She has been released pending further enquiries.

Detectives are now urging anyone with information to get in touch.
