A man and a woman have been arrested after a large quantity of drugs were seized from two properties in Dumbarton and Alexandria.

On Sunday, June 16, police raided properties in Argyll Avenue, Dumbarton and Middleton Street, Alexandria after receiving search warrants.

A number of items were seized, including drugs believed to be Heroin, Cannabis Resin and a quantity of tablets suspected to be Class C drugs.

West Dunbartonshire Community Policing Inspector Mo Boyle said: "Controlled drugs cause significant harm to individuals and communities both here in West Dunbartonshire and more widely across Scotland.

"Tackling the supply of drugs has been identified as a key policing priority by local residents and we are committed to working with communities and our partners to do so.

"Information and intelligence from a range of sources enables officers to target those individuals who are involved in the supply of drugs - I would encourage anyone with any information to speak with their local policing team or to call CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111."

To contact your local policing team call 101 (in an emergency always dial 999) or speak to officers out on patrol.
