Police have launched an appeal after a man and his dog were attacked by a dog while walking in the town centre.
Officers were called to Chapel Street in St Helens town centre at around 5.30pm to reports of a dog attack. The man was reportedly walking his dog through the town centre when another dog ran over and bit them both.
Merseyside Police has released a CCTV image of a woman they believe can help with them with their enquiries. A spokesperson for the force said: "We are appealing for information after a man and his dog were bitten by another dog in St Helens.

"At around 5pm on Monday 26th September a man was walking his dog along Chapel Street when another dog ran over and bit them both.
"The man suffered a bite to this finger and his dog had a wound on his back and was taken to the vets for treatment.
