Man and daughter attacked outside Dalmuir pub

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man and woman were attacked outside a Dalmuir pub in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 48-year-old victim was assaulted along with his 27-year-old daughter in Stewart Street at around 12.50am

The pair had been involved in an argument with a man, who then went on to assault them both, punching the man once and the woman twice.

The man suffered a minor injury to his nose.

The woman sustained a serious facial injury and received treatment at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Following the incident the suspect ran off up Stewart Street, in the direction of Dalmuir train station, and is described as being dressed in all dark clothing at the time.

Detective Constable Iain Allison of Clydebank CID said: "Enquires are ongoing and we are working to establish the circumstances leading up to this assault.

"There would have been a number of people in the area around the time of the incident and we are keen to talk to anyone who might have seen anything.

"Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0208 of Sunday, 19 January, 2020 or alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously."
