Man allegedly more than seven times blood-alcohol limit in crash

A man has been charged with high-range drink-driving after he allegedly hit a parked car on the Central Coast while more than seven times the legal blood-alcohol limit.

Police said a blue sedan was on Warnervale Road at Hamlyn Terrace when it left the road and hit a parked ute, causing significant damage to both vehicles, about 10.30pm on Saturday.

A male off-duty Senior Constable attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District was in the area and helped the 46-year-old male driver.

But the driver allegedly became physically and verbally aggressive toward the off-duty officer and passers-by, before other police arrived.

The Hamlyn Terrace man was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station where he allegedly returned a breath analysis of 0.363.

The man was charged with high-range drink-driving, driving having never held a licence, negligent driving and destroying or damaging property.

Police said the man will face Wyong Local Court on January 18.
