A man allegedly involved in multiple vehicle thefts and burglaries across Canberra was found in possession of a shotgun and dozens of shells.
The 25-year-old was arrested on Wednesday at a home in Chifley.
According to ACT Policing, a warrant was issued in April for the man's arrest after he allegedly violated his parole conditions.
Following inquiries by ACT Policing's Proactive Intervention and Diversion Team, the man was believed to be in a house in Chifley.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, with assistance from AFP Specialist Operations, police attended the residence to arrest him. After several hours of negotiation, he surrendered himself to police.
Following a subsequent search of the house, police located a shotgun and dozens of shotgun shells.
The man is believed to have been involved in multiple vehicle thefts and burglaries across Canberra, police said.
Enquiries into those offences and the possession of the firearm and ammunition are ongoing.
The man is due to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday.
