A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries following a crash in Dumfries and Galloway.

Police were called to the A714 near Wigtown at around 8.35pm on Saturday following a report of a crash involving a silver Renault Megane.

Emergency services attended the scene and the sole occupant of the car, a 26-year-old man, was taken by air ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

Medical staff said the driver suffered serious injuries following the crash.

Police said that enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

Road Policing Sergeant David Kerr said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicle prior, and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“Additionally, I would appeal to anyone who was driving in the area and who may have dash cam footage which could assist to contact us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 3292 of 27 June, 2026.
