Man airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries after Leeds crash

A man is fighting for his life after he was hit by a car in Leeds.

The pedestrian, who is in his 60s, was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries after the collision in Gledhow Valley Road on Saturday, December 21.

Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to the the scene of the collision, which happened near the junction with Harrogate Road, at around 1pm.

West Yorkshire Police remain at the scene and an investigation is underway.

A police spokesman said: "The man who was in his 60s suffered life threatening injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.

"Road closures remain in place and drivers are urged to avoid."
