A 49-year-old male has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a nail wound to the head at Clarence Town on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a worksite on Queen Street about 3pm after a man was hit by a falling piece of timber whilst demolishing a building.
The timber had a nail in it which became embedded in the man's head.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter airlifted the 49-year-old man to John Hunter Hospital.
An Ambulance NSW spokesperson said the man was transported in a serious but stable condition.
