Man airlifted to hospital after horror one-car crash in Scottish Borders

A man has been airlifted to a hospital following a serious crash in the Scottish Borders.

Emergency services raced to a one-vehicle collision at Huntford near the border with England, around 12.20pm on Thursday August 5.

The 45-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment, but the extent of his injuries are not yet known.

The road currently remains closed as police enquiries into the collision continue.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and use an alternative route as the road is closed in both directions.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to a one vehicle crash on the A68 at Huntford around 12.20pm on Thursday 6 August.

“A 45-year-old man was airlifted to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment to his injuries, and the road currently remains closed while enquiries continue.”
