Man airlifted to hospital after collapsing on Seaham Golf Club course

An air ambulance was called to Seaham Golf Club after a man collapsed on the course.

Emergency services received a call at 10.03am on Saturday and a community first responder and a double crewed ambulance were sent to the scene.

The Great North Air Ambulance was also requested to attend and landed on the golf course.

Paramedics performed CPR on the man, who had collapsed, before he was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for further treatment.

His condition is not known at this stage.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We received a call at 10.03am on Saturday after a male patient was taken unwell at Seaham Golf Club.

"A community first responder, a double crewed ambulance and the air ambulance were all sent to the scene.

"CPR was administered on the course before the man was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary."
