Man admits wounding and having a knife in Nottingham

A man has pleaded guilty to wounding and having a knife in Nottingham.

Colin Hartley, 22, denied wounding with intent to cause a man grievous bodily harm but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of wounding.

At Nottingham Crown Court, on Tuesday, October 6, he also admitted having an article with a blade or point - a knife - in Beastmarket Hill, Nottingham, on Sunday, August 9.

Phil Gibbs, prosecuting, said the pleas were acceptable.

He said the victim underwent surgery to repair his colon. The court heard how the complainant has requested to read out his victim personal statement in person at the hearing.

Judge Gregory Dickinson QC, the Recorder of Nottingham, told Hartley, of Bridlington Street, Hyson Green, he will be brought back to court for sentencing on November 3.
