Man admits to setting neighbours' bins on fire on Ayrshire street

A man has admitted setting fire to neighbours bins on an Ayr street.

James Holland, 43, pled guilty this week to charges of wilful fire raising after bins were set alight on Paterson Street.

Holland was arrested and charged after police were called to deal with a blaze in the Heathfield area on Saturday, May 8 around 12.40am.

Holland was accused of setting fire to one bin, which led to eight other bins catching fire on the residential street.

He pled guilty to charges on Monday, May 10 at Ayr Sheriff Court.

Holland will appear for sentencing and for other matters to call on June 8.
