Man admits killing mother, 83, and stashing her body parts in his freezer

A man has confessed to murdering his 83-year-old mother and stashing her body parts in his freezer.

The 51-year-old also admitted killing his lover due to 'jealousy' and burying her dismembered body in the garden of a country house.

The unnamed man, from Krasnoyarsk in Siberia, has been detained as part of a double murder investigation.

Police found the body of his 43-year-old lover, missing for one year, after using a ground-penetrating radar device on land around his remote country house, according to law enforcement sources.

When officers searched his apartment in the city, they allegedly discovered the chopped remains of his mother in his freezer.

A video shows a police search on the flat underway.

The 83-year-old had been missing for two months.

A knife was used to dismember his mother, police believe.

He told police he had kept some parts of the pensioner in plastic bags in his kitchen freezer but did not explain why.

Nor is it known what happened to the rest of her corpse.

State investigators did not reveal which body parts had been found in the freezer.

The double murder investigation is continuing.
