Man admits having hundreds of 'sexual' images of young children

A man has appeared in court to plead guilty to possessing hundreds of child abuse images.

Gordon Hughes, 72, admitted having the images over a period between January 2019 and March 2021.

Sefton Magistrates Court today heard Hughes, of Savon Hook, Formby, was found with computer generated images of children aged two and three which depicted "penetrative sexual acts".

Hughes was also in possession of "lifelike images" involving "sadism" of boys aged five.

Hughes appeared only to confirm his name and enter his guilty plea.

The case has been sent for trial at Liverpool Crown Court on November 24.
