Man accused of verbally abusing security staff at Whiston Hospital

A man has been charged after reportedly verbally abusing security staff at Whiston hospital.

Jordan Willis, 27, St Helens Road is accused of being 'abusive and disorderly' towards security staff at the hospital, just before midnight yesterday.

Officers attending the scene, on Sunday, May 23 detained Willis at the hospital, on Warrington Road, Prescot.

During a search of the suspect, police found a knife hidden on him.

Police confirmed that Willis, of St Helens Road , Leigh, has been charged a Public Order offence and Possession of a Knife in a Public Place and will attend court on June, 21, of this year.

A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "We have charged a 27 year old Leigh man following an incident outside Whiston Hospital last night.


"Shortly before midnight officers attended to reports of a male being abusive and disorderly at the location.

"Colleagues attended and detained the male within in the ground of the hospital , he was subsequently arrested for a Public Order offence.

"During a search of the male , officers recovered a knife which was found hidden on the arrested male , he was taken into custody as part of the investigation.

"Jordan Willis , 27 years of St Helens Road , Leigh has now been charged with a Public Order offence and Possession of a Knife in a Public Place."
