Man accused of serious violent offences against a woman

A South Bristol man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with a series of offences of violence against a woman, and a sexual offence.

Gordon Maddocks, from Southville, appeared before magistrates in Bristol today (May 8), and had his case sent to Bristol Crown Court on June 7.

The 60-year-old was charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, three counts of actual bodily harm and one count of criminal damage - all which relate to a period last month, between April 9 and April 14.

He was also charged with one count of disclosing a private sexual film with intent to cause distress.
