Jan. 04--An Orange County parolee was arrested on suspicion of swindling a woman he met through Craigslist by selling her two voided Disneyland tickets, police said Saturday.
Jonathan Olsen, 26, had posted an ad in early December hawking two Disneyland tickets for $160, according to a statement from the Costa Mesa Police Department. The tickets would normally cost about $200.
A 22-year-old Tustin woman answered the ad and agreed to meet at a Costa Mesa restaurant. After buying the tickets, she also took a cellphone picture of Olsen's identification card, police said.
A few days later, she learned at Disneyland that the tickets were invalid -- then she contacted police.
When police arrived at Olsen's residence late last month, they found more invalid tickets along with drug paraphernalia.
Olsen was arrested Dec. 30 and charged with petty theft after he told investigators he stole the tickets from a store, police said. He's being held at an Orange County jail without bail under a probation hold, according to jail records.
Olsen was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Costa Mesa police believe there may be additional victims, and have asked anyone affected to contact investigators at (714) 754-5637.
