A man has appeared in court over an alleged rape at Chavasse Park in Liverpool ONE.
Janath Gul Jadarkhail appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court this morning faced with one charge of raping a woman.
The 21-year-old spoke only to confirm his name, age and address before two magistrates.
He is alleged to have raped a woman on Strand Street and Chavasse Park in Liverpool city centre in 2019.
Jadarkhail entered no indication of plea while stood in the dock.
He wore a black shirt and trousers and appeared before magistrates Dr Graham Hogg and Jordan Kiss.
Michael O'Kane prosecuted the case this morning while Steve Charters represented Jadarkhail.

The court heard that due to the seriousness of the charge it is a case that can only be dealt with at a crown court.
Jadarkhail, of County Road, Walton, will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on May 4 after being released on conditional bail.
