District Judge Gwyn Jones at Llandudno Magistrates Court remanded him in custody until Wednesday at Mold Crown Court.

Prosecutor James Neary asked for the case to be sent to the crown court.

Selby, wearing a grey sweatshirt and standing between two guards in the glass-fronted dock, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth and to confirm that he understood the charge. He was remanded in custody.

North Wales Police previously said: ”We would ask the public not to speculate about this incident on social media as this is an active investigation.”

An air ambulance helicopter had landed on the busy A548 coast road which runs alongside the caravan and campsite and a large number of police officers had been at the scene.
