Man accused of murder of inmate at Nottingham Prison pleads guilty

A 30-year-old man faces a life sentence after pleading guilty to the murder of an inmate in Nottingham Prison.

Ferencz-Rudolf Pusok changed his not guilty plea to guilty to the murder of 43-year-old Brett Lowe at a hearing at Nottingham Crown Court this morning (Monday, Octber 26).

Pusok, of no fixed address, was due to have a trial, starting today, but appeared on a video link from HMP Manchester to change his plea to guilty.

The charge of murder was read out to him by a court clerk through a Hungarian interpreter. He admitted murder of Brett Lowe on July 18, 2018.

No further details were given about the crime.

Judge Gregory Dickinson QC, the Recorder of Nottingham, told him: "You will be sentence on we think November 20. The sentence must be and will be imprisonment for life. The court is required to fix the minimum term that you must serve before you could apply for release on licence, so that will be decided at the next hearing."
