A man who allegedly lit three house fires in the Brisbane suburb of Hamilton in a matter of weeks has been granted bail.
Peter Leslie Williams, 49, is accused of deliberately setting two houses on fire on three separate occasions.
The neighbouring properties are located on Nudgee Road and were empty at the time of the fires.
Police allege Mr Williams lit the first fire at 24 Nudgee Road late last month before lighting the second fire at the neighbouring property on June 1.
It is alleged he then set the property at 24 Nudgee Road alight again on Tuesday.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Mark Hughes told the court the 49-year-old was seen riding a mountain bike to and from the properties around the time of the fire.
The court heard CCTV footage obtained by police showed Mr Williams riding away from the house after watching it catch fire.
According to police, Mr Williams was covered in dirt and ash when he was arrested and had a cigarette lighter in his backpack.
Magistrate Ann Gummow ordered the man to stay away from the suburb of Hamilton and report to police five days a week.
The court heard the properties were heritage-listed and could not be developed.
"Sounds dodgy to me," Magistrate Gummow told the court.
She rejected the prosecutor's request to make Mr Williams wear a tracking device.
Mr Williams will face court again next month.
