A man accused of being the world's biggest facilitator of child porn is due in a US court today after being handed over to the FBI in Dublin Airport.

Eric Eoin Marques, who was being held in Midlands Prison, had been battling against his extradition to the US.

After a six-year battle with Irish courts, the 33-year-old was taken to Dublin Airport on Saturday morning where he was handed over to US agents.

Man accused of being 'largest child porn facilitator in the world' extradited to United States

Marques, who has both Irish and American citizenship, operated a dark web host allowing more than 100 sites to show the rape and torture of children from his father's one bedroom flat in Dublin.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "An Garda Siochana confirms that Mr Eric Eoin Marques was this morning extradited to the United States.

"He was surrendered to FBI Agents at Dublin Airport and will appear in Court in the US on Monday.

"Eric Marques' extradition was sought by the US over allegations that he conspired to distribute and advertise child pornography on the dark web."
