Man, 90, dies after being struck by car in horror crash on Hamilton road

A 90-year-old man has died following a horror crash in Hamilton last week.

The elderly man was crossing Leechlee Road near to Brandon Street using a three-wheeled walker when he was hit by a red Ford Kuga travelling north on Friday (November 13) at around 9.25am.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in hospital in a critical condition.

Police Scotland have confirmed that he sadly died while in hospital yesterday (November 17).

The man's relatives have been made aware of his death and officers have confirmed a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The 32-year-old female driver of the Ford Kuga was not injured in the crash.

Enquiries in to the incident are continuing and officers have asked anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to contact police via 101, quoting reference number 0820 of 13 November, 2020 when calling. To remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
