Man, 79, dies after being hit by car while crossing busy road in northwest London

An elderly man has died after being hit by a car in northwest London.

The 79-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries in a collision while crossing Rayners Lane, Pinner.

Metropolitan Police officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service at around 1pm on Friday.

He was taken to hospital where he sadly died on Monday.

A force spokesman said: “His family are aware and continue to receive support from specialist officers.

“An investigation into the collision remains ongoing.”
