Man, 72, missing from South Side health care center last seen in June

Melvin Brown | Chicago police

Chicago police are asking for help locating a 72-year-old man who was reported missing in June from a health care center in Englewood on the South Side.

Melvin Brown was last seen June 10 when he was transferred from Alden Wentworth Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 201 W. 69th St., to Stroger Hospital, 1969 Ogden Ave., according to a missing persons alert from Chicago police.

Brown is described as a 6-foot-3, 140-pound man with brown eyes, gray hair and a dark-brown complexion, police said. He has a chronic kidney disease, no teeth, uses a wheel chair and has mental health disabilities.

Although he was last seen June 10, police confirmed he was reported missing Nov. 17.

It is unknown what he was wearing when he went missing.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Area South detectives at 312-747-8274.
