Man, 72, dies in Glasgow hospital after car crashes into wall in Milngavie car park

A 72-year-old man has died after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a wall in Milngavie.

The tragic incident happened around 6:30am this morning within a car park on Stewart Street.

Police and emergency services raced to the scene after the alarm was raised, and the man, the sole occupant of the black Vauxhall Corsa, was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Sadly, he passed away at the hospital. His next of kin and family have been informed.

Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, with officers appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them.

Anyone with dashcam devices is asked to check their footage as they may have captured images which could assist officers in establishing the full circumstances of what happened.

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0379 of 29 November, 2021.
