Man, 71, arrested following early morning crash with cyclist

A 71-year-old man has been arrested following an early morning crash between a Jeep and a cyclist.

Police were called to the incident on the A48 Crack Hill, in Brocastle near The Golden Well Chinese restaurant in Bridgend at around 5.50am on Wednesday, May 27.

A Jeep Cherokee and a bicycle heading towards Cardiff were involved.

Road closures remained in place throughout the morning as officers from South Wales Police continued their investigations.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area until the road reopens.

Officers from the force are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

Anyone who has dash cam footage from around the area at that time is also urged to come forward.
