Man, 70s, killed after horror accident on Co Galway farm

An elderly man has died after an accident on a farm in Co Galway on Sunday evening.

The man, aged in his 70s, died after the tire on a tractor exploded on the farm near Tuam.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene where the man was sadly pronounced dead.

The Health and Safety Authority and Gardai are investigating the tragic accident.

A garda spokesperson said: "A man in his mid 70s has died following a farm accident involving a tractor in Kilconly, Tuam, Co Galway on June 7, 2020.

"The incident occurred shortly after 6.30pm on Sunday and Gardaí attended the scene.



"The man was removed to University Hospital Galway where he was pronounced dead. An Garda Síochána is liaising with the HSA, and a file is to be prepared for the County Coroner."
