Man, 67, who died in three-vehicle crash is named

A man who tragically died in a three-vehicle crash in Trafford has been named.

Emergency services were called to scene of the smash on Clay Lane in Altrincham at around 6pm on January 25.

Three vehicles were involved, police said.

The driver of one of the vehicles - now named as 67-year-old Allan Gray - was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A file in relation to his death has been passed to Manchester South Coroners' Court and an inquest will open at a later date.

The M.E.N understands that Mr Gray is believed to have suffered a medical episode.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said today (February 1) that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Another driver was taken to hospital from the scene as a precaution.

Officers closed off the road between Thorley Lane and Bowdon Rugby Club after the crash.

Police urged anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
