Body of man, 67, found in Dumbarton home as cops probe 'unexplained' death

The body of a 67-year-old man has been found in Dumbarton.

Police were called to a property on Helenslee Place yesterday where they made the grim discovery.

Emergency services arrived on the scene at 3.15pm yesterday afternoon and the area surrounding the property was cordoned off.

The death is being treated as "unexplained".

Residents reported seeing plain clothes officers and forensic teams enter the house.

One neighbour said: "An ambulance arrived at about 3.45pm and there was a few police cars parked out too.

"You could see officers in plain clothes going in and out as well as some people wearing  forensic suits."

Police officers remain at the property, which is near to Levengrove Park, today.

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said: "Around 3.15pm on April 25 police were called after a body of a 67-year-old man was found within a property on Helenslee Place in Dumbarton.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal."
