Man, 65, rushed to hospital after two-vehicle crash on busy Glasgow road

A 65-year-old man has been rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following a two-vehicle crash.

The accident took place on Keppochhill Road, which runs between Possilpark and Springburn in the north of the city, at around 3.55pm today (Thursday, November 22).

Emergency services raced to the scene to assist and an ambulance took the man to hospital

It is unclear at this time the nature of his injuries.

The road was initially locked down westbound from Carlisle Street to Coxhill Street, and buses were forced to re-route. The road reopened at around 6.20pm tonight.

Photos taken at the crash site, which were shared on social media by a nearby resident, show several blue-lit cop cars as well as at least two fire engines parked up at the spot where the smash happened, reports The Daily Record.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.55pm on Thursday, 24 November 2022, police received a report of a two vehicle crash on Keppochhill Road, Glasgow.

"A 65-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"The road was reopened around 6.20pm.

"Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the crash."
