Man, 63, charged after MPs 'harassed'

A 63-year-old man has been charged following an investigation into the harassment of MPs.

Robert Vidlar, of Vaughan Road in Harrow, is accused of five counts of harassment without violence.

He also faces three counts of sending an offensive/indecent/obscene/menacing message.

Vidlar was arrested on January 27, as part of an investigation into malicious communications received by a number of MPs' offices, Met Police said.

Scotland Yard said he was charged on Friday and released on bail to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on May 24.

The Metropolitan Police would not confirm which MPs had been targeted.
