Man, 61, suffers serious head injury after losing control of bike on Scots road

A cyclist is in serious condition after losing control of his bike on a Langbank road.

Polic e are now appealing for witnesses after the 61-year-old after he veered off the B789 Main Road at around 12.50pm yesterday.

The man was found by a member of the public who alerted the emergency services .

The cyclist was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and treated for serious head and chest injuries.

Staff at the hospital describe his condition as serious but stable.

Sergeant Kenneth Malaney from Road Policing is appealing for anyone who was travelling along the B789 around the time of the incident who may have seen or witnessed anything to contact officers.

He said: "If anyone was travelling along and has a dash cam, I would ask you to check it as you may have captured images which could assist our investigaiton. Please call Road Policing Officers via 101."
