Man, 60s, who shouted at Cork gardai and refused to give details charged over breaking lockdown

A man is due to appear in court charged with breaching lockdown rules.

Gardai on patrol in The Lough area of Cork city were shouted at by a man on April 27.

Officers quizzed the man but he refused to give his name or details and was arrested shortly after 11.30am.

He was held at Bridewell Garda Station and the Director of Public Prosecutions decided that he be charged.

The man, in his 60s, will be charged in relation to the incident at Cork City District Court on Wednesday morning.

A spokesman said: "A man in his 60s is due to appear before court this morning in relation to a breach of the Health (Preservation and Protection and other Emergency Measures in the Public Interest) Bill, 2020. in Co. Cork on April 27, 2020."
