A man in his 60s has died after the car he was driving left the road and struck a ditch in Co Clare.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses after the incident on the R352 near the village of Mountshannon.
Officers were called to the scene at around 2.45pm this afternoon, and the driver of the car was pronounced dead shortly after.
His body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for a post-mortem examination.

A male passenger in the car, also in his 60s, was brought to UHL by ambulance. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
A spokesperson said: "Garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to examine the scene.
"The local Coroner has been notified and local traffic diversions are in place around the crash site.
