Man, 60s, dies after being attacked by bull on farm in Charleville, Co Cork

A man in his 60’s has died after being attacked by a bull on his farm in Charleville, Co Cork.

The 64 year farmer was tending to a number of bulls in a shed at Tullylease near Charleville on Thursday when the attack happened.

The emergency services were alerted after a neighbour found the man in an unresponsive state. The farmer was pronounced dead at the scene - CorkBeo reports.

A garda spokesman confirmed they accident and said the Health and Safety Authority have been informed.

He said: "Gardaí attended the scene of a fatal workplace accident on a farm that occurred on the evening of Thursday 2nd April in Tullylease, County Cork.

"A man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital for post-mortem.

"The Health and Safety Authority have since been notified."

His body was taken to the morgue at Cork University Hospital. A post-mortem will be carried out today.
