Man, 60s, arrested as over €500,000 seized IN CASH following massive garda operation in North Dublin

Over half-a-million euro in cash has been seized and a 60-year-old man has been arrested following a massive operation in North Dublin.

The Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau have made the massive seizure following in intelligence-led operation this evening.

A spokesman said the arrested man is currently being detained in Finglas under the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act.

He said: "On the 25th October 2019 an intelligence-led operation targeting an International Organised Crime Group was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

"A number of searches were carried out in the North Dublin area and cash in excess of €500,000 was seized.

"A 60 year old male was arrested for an offence under the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act, 1996 and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Finglas Garda Station."
