Man last seen in Joliet boarding train to Chicago found dead

A missing 60-year-old man who was last seen boarding a train from Joliet to Chicago was found dead in McKinley Park on the South Side.

Phillip Divittorio was last seen Dec. 4, 2019, at the Rock Island Metra Station in Jolet, Chicago police said in a missing person alert.

He was found about 7 a.m. Dec. 10, 2019, in the 3600 block of South Archer Avenue and pronounced at the scene, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy found he died of internal bleeding from a fractured rib due to a fall with substance abuse as a contributing factor, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.
