Man, 60, found with serious burn injuries at Carntyne flat incident

A 60-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after being found with serious burn injuries at a flat in the east end of Glasgow this morning.

Police and emergency services raced to the scene on Cardowan Road in Carntyne around 8am.

The man was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Medical staff describe his condition a stable, with police enquiries ongoing to establish how he came about his injuries.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Around 8am this morning, Monday, 28 September, 2020, police were called after a 60-year-old man was found with serious burn injuries at a flat in Cardowan Road, Carntyne, Glasgow.

"He has been taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

"Medical staff describe his condition as stable. Enquiries are ongoing to establish how he came about his injuries."

A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire & Rescue Service said: "We can confirm we were in attendance at Cardowan Road around 7:45am this morning".
