Man, 60, dies after suffering serious injuries in 'lawnmower incident'

A 60-year-old man has died after an incident involving an industrial lawnmower.

The man, from Launceston, Cornwall, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Officers are not treating the death as suspicious and the Health and Safety Executive has been notifified.

Police officers and paramedics confirmed they were called to the small hamlet of Trethevy, near Tintagel, on Monday afternoon, following reports that a man had been seriously injured, reports Cornwall Live .

A Devon and Cornwall police spokesperson said: “Police were called to attend Trethevy near Tintagle at around 4.45pm on Monday, July 1, by the ambulance service.

“Units attended and found that a 60-year-old man from the Launceston area had been involved in an accident with an industrial mower.

“He was pronounced deceased at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.

“The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and local authority have been made aware of this incident.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and enquiries continue on behalf of the coroner.”
