Man, 58, suffers head injury after being attacked in loos at Paisley pub

A man has suffered a head injury after being battered in the toilets of a Paisley pub.

Police are investigating the assault at The Last Post in County Square and have appealed for witnesses.

The attack happened yesterday at 3.50pm when the 58-year-old went into the loos and was assaulted by a man who was already in the toilet area.

The suspect then left the premises, leaving the victim with a head injury.

The injured man was treated at the Royal Alexandra Hospital before being released.

The suspect is described as being white, in his 30s and with short brown hair. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, a blue T-shirt and Fred Perry trainers.

Detective Constable Paul Fanning, from Paisley CID, said: “We are still trying to establish the exact circumstances of this incident and if there was any motive behind this assault.

“CCTV footage has shown that another man walked into the toilet area around the time of the attack, however he walked out again and has not provided a statement to police.

“It is vital that this man contacts police as a matter of urgency as he may have information that could assist our enquiry and help trace the person responsible for this violent assault.

“Anyone else who was within the pub around 3.50pm and has any information that could assist our enquiry is asked to phone police at Paisley CID on 101 quoting incident number 2738.”
