Man, 58, arrested after dog walker's ear bitten during attack in Chorlton

A man has been arrested after a dog walker's ear was bitten through during an attack.

The 72-year-old victim was walking his dog by the River Mersey, on the border of Chorlton and Sale, when the attack took place.

Another man punched, kicked and bit through the pensioner's ear.

He was taken to hospital and required stitches to his ear after around a quarter of it was left hanging off.

The attack took place on Wednesday, February 26 at around 10.30am.

A 58-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of Section 20 assault.

He has since been released under investigation.

Greater Manchester Police continue to make enquiries.
