Man, 54, fighting for his life after car smashes into wall in Leeds

A man is fighting for his life after his car smashed into a stone wall in Rothwell, Leeds.

The driver, 54, is in a critical condition after sustaining serious injuries at around 3:19am this morning. The accident involved a Citroen C4 which was travelling down Styebank Lane and failed to stop at the junction to Park Lane and crashed into a stone wall.

The injured man was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Officers are looking for anyone who saw the vehicle before it crashed. It is currently believed the car may have turned onto Styebank Lane from Leeds Road. The road was closed while the police investigated the incident.
